How to Draw: Snow Leopard​

Sat, 23 Dec, 2:00pm - 3:45pm, The Core, Solihull

Age guide: 7-13In this Xmas Special, we’ll explore shading techniques to make the Snow Leopard’s fur and spots look convincing, while we build up details to make the drawing look 3D. 

We’ll also mount the artwork so it’s ready to hang.

How to Draw: Harry Potter​

Spectacular Starfish​ (half-term)

Age guide: 7-11In this arts workshop, we will have fun experimenting with different materials and techniques. Then come up with your own ways of combining the different techniques. 

  • shape paper into 3D forms to create magical starfish
  • explore different ways of applying paints and inks
  • use wax resist techniques to achieve spectacular effects
  • learn about colour combinations that make artworks look exciting

Kaleidoscope Workshop​ (half -term)

Age guide: 5-11. Make your own kaleidoscope and experience a dazzling spectrum of colour! 

Be inspired by your own kaleidoscope art to make artworks to take home.

You will learn:

  • how to make your own mini kaleidoscope using metallic foils and colourful shapes
  • about the science that makes kaleidoscopes work
  • about patterns and symmetry
  • how to use colours that are dazzling

Age Guide: 11-16. ArtLab provides a unique platform to experiment and develop your artistic abilities while learning new skills and different approaches to drawing. In this session, enjoy the experience of making large-scale expressive portraits. 

Please bring a good quality photo of the person you would like to draw to the session.

A Portrait For Mother's Day (Drawing Masterclass)

Age Guide: 7-13. Are you looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift Create a likeness and character in a portrait – the perfect personalised gift that comes with love.

Bring a good quality photo (minimum size 4 “x 6 “) of the person you would like to draw.

To make the drawing into a presentable gift you can purchase a display mount board for a small additional cost.

These drawing workshops have been designed to develop good drawing habits in children from an early age. Consequently, children develop a good foundation in drawing based solidly on observation. They will develop understanding on how to tackle complex subjects and be introduced to the language of art, learning both the technical terms and practising the drawing techniques.
