Youth Arts–A Creative Platform for Young People
Age Guide: 13+
Youth Arts steps up from ArtLab, pushing young people to step out of their comfort zones and try new things together with focussed development of the fundamental skills required to work in the creative industries. Moreover, the skills developed are not just relevant to the creative industries but multiple leadership roles both in work and in life. Opportunities to gain real world experience of arts roles including facilitating workshops and curating exhibitions are integrated in the programme.
All materials are provided except artfolders (available for purchase at first session for £7). Please bring an apron or wear old clothes–being creative can get messy!
Arts Award
Arts Award is built into the course. The Awards give young people a solid focus for their learning and mark milestones in their achievements. They complement the arts curriculum at school providing a richer and more holistic insight into the world of the creative arts. Young people will have the opportunity to achieve Arts Award at either Explore, Bronze, Silver or Gold levels according to age and developmental stage. Gold Arts Award (working at A Level standard) attracts UCAS points for those wishing to go to university. You can read more about Arts Award here.
