May’s Creativity and Wellbeing Calendar
The first act of being creative is noticing things. You do this by taking the time to observe your environment and what’s happening around you. Really seeing is the starting point! After that, who knows where your thoughts will take you? Let them wander and enjoy the journey.
It’s amazing how difficult this can actually be. Drawing is a great way to make yourself notice what’s going on around you. It’s being mindful, but being actively involved in the mindfulness. When you are recording what you see, the brain becomes focussed on the mindfulness. You don’t have to try to be mindful–it just happens!
Here are 31 ideas and starting points for being creative, connecting to nature and improving your wellbeing at the same time. You can try all of them, some of them or mix them up. The important thing is having a go. Share your stories with us and inspire someone else to have a go, too.
